4 Calming Tips for the Working Mum

Being a full time working mum is not easy. The "To Do List" is always a mile long and it feels like no matter how much you tick off, it keeps growing. Here are some of our daily tips to help you not go stir crazy...

#1 Be Organised!

Sounds simple, but it really is the difference some weeks between coping and melting down. Being organised can mean making sure that your family has everything they need, including healthy meals each day and that work is planned for the week ahead.

Put time aside on the weekend to cook up a few meals that can be either frozen for later in the week or reheated for a fuss-free dinner.

Also, try to plan your weekly dinner menu (and lunches) so you can shop for ingredients. Nothing is worse than asking yourself “What’s for dinner?” at 6 pm! It really is worth taking the time once a week to work out what the family’s diary is like for the week ahead and planning meals around that. Some nights there is just very little time between getting home and when the “I’m hungry, what’s for dinner?” starts!

#2 Take Time for Yourself

Ever heard the saying “A happy wife means a happy life?" Women really do set the tone of the household so it’s important to do something for yourself each day - for everyone’s sake!

It’s so easy to neglect yourself when there is always so much to do. You just need to make the decision to find the time – it’s as simple as that. Do whatever is relaxing or a good stress reliever for you. Going for a run or a walk, meditation, getting lost in a good book, tune out with music or catching up with a friend are all great stress relievers.

#3 Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff

We spend a lot of time stressing over things that aren't that important in the long run. You know the saying, “you have to choose your battles." This applies to kids, relationships, and life. Some things are worth fighting for and others you just have to let go to keep your sanity. Work out what you aren’t willing to negotiate on, and the rest, well, that’s up to you.

For those days when this is harder to do than others, Brauer Calm Oral Spray can be a real lifesaver. When you're stressed, one little thing can go wrong and that can tip you over the edge. #4 Get Your Rest

A lot of people never had any trouble sleeping until after they had children.
