When can I start giving my child vitamins?
If your child has been ill recently, travelled, is experiencing a growth spurt or going through a fussy phase - their usual diet may have been disrupted. And when their diet is out of whack, their levels of essential vitamins and minerals may be too.
To support your little one's intake, you may have considered giving them a vitamin supplement. But it's important that you pay close attention to the age indications and directions for use. There are some vitamins on the market that may be suitable for young children but if you're unsure as to which one might be suitable, talk to your local pharmacist and ask them to point you in the right direction.
However, if your child is younger than the age specification, don't give them the supplement unless advised by your health professional.
