FAQ
- Can Brauer medicines be taken with other medications? Will the drugs destroy the effects of homoeopathic remedies and will the Brauer medicines interfere with the drugs?
Because of the tiny amounts of active material in Homoeopathic products, Brauer medicines will not affect the activity of any other medication, and nor will other medications affect the activity of the Brauer product.
- How fast does it work?
This depends upon the person and the condition being treated. For example, a child with colic who is given Brauer Colic Relief may respond in a matter of minutes. An elderly person with arthritis may take several days to respond to Brauer Joint and Muscle Cream. Because Brauer medicines work by harnessing a persons own healing energy, the more energy they have, the quicker the medicines will work.
- Can Brauer natural medicines be used by Diabetics?
All Brauer products can be used by diabetics. According to medical studies, both insulin dependant and non-insulin dependant diabetics can tolerate between 30-40g of glucose per day without experiencing a detectable change in their blood glucose. Because this amount is far greater than the sugar content derived from the recommended dose of Brauer products, it would seem that the use of Brauer products there should be little or no effect on the ability of diabetics to maintain their blood sugar levels.
- How long should you take Brauer medicines? When should you take them?
Brauer products are best used only while symptoms are present. Once the symptoms start to improve, the dose frequency can be reduced the medicine can be stopped.
- What is the difference between herbs, supplements & Homoeopathy?
Herbal medicines and supplements such as vitamins and minerals work on the body in a similar way to drugs, and improve the ability of the body to resist disease. Homoeopathy works by stimulating the body’s healing energy when you have a disease or health problem and focuses the body’s own healing energy on the problem to promote recovery.
- Can you take more than one Brauer medicine at a time?
Yes, but if using more than one Brauer product at a time it’s best to leave half an hour between the doses of the different products.
- Can Brauer medicines be used if I’m breast-feeding? Will it effect the baby?
There has never been a recorded case of any harm coming to baby when Homoeopathic medicines have been used during breastfeeding. In many cases, professional Homoeopaths give breastfeeding mothers the medicines for the baby to take themselves, and the effects of the medicines go through the breast milk to the baby.
- Most Brauer medicines suggest that they be used half-hourly or every 4 hours – when do I use which dose regime?
These 2 different dose regimes relate to the intensity of the symptoms suffered by the person using the product. If the symptoms are intense, the medicine is best used every half hour for up to 2 hours. If the symptoms are still present but are less intense, the medicine should be used every 4 hours until the symptoms subside. Of course anyone suffering from particularly severe symptoms should consult their healthcare practitioner for advice.
- Has the dosage of Baby Care and Child Care products changed?
In response to users of the products who have told us that they do not need to use the full dose to get good results, Colic Relief and Teething Relief doses have been halved. This also brings them into line with doses for these age groups in other products of the Baby Care and Child Care categories. The higher doses may still be used if stated on the label without any risk of overdose, but as those labels are replaced, there will be a consistent but sufficient dosage for all age groups across the range of products.
